However this description is not in the sense that it is a Brie but more that it is the ancestor of all Brie cheeses. What’s it taste like? Coulommier is smaller and thicker than most Bries and has a more buttery colour and taste with a hint of almonds. Where’s it from? Made only in the Brie region our version is affineured by Jacques Hennart. Chaource comes as a wrapped 500g circular whole cheese in a wooden case. Item DescriptionChaource is a fantastic traditional creamy cows milk cheese from Burgundy. The perfect table cheese, Chaource can quite easily stand up to be enjoyed on its own with a glass or three of Champagne. What’s it taste like? Chaource has a thick rind with a reddish hint and a lovely buttery interior. The taste is quite strong and similar to a Neufchatel. Where’s it from?
